The Essence Of Spirituality

Spirituality is the essence of life. Spirituality brings to us the real picture of the life. Spirituality introduces us to our reality. Spirituality is the science of spirit. By the term of spirit, people generally conceive of ghost. Soul is a bigger realm of which ghost is just a part. We too are spirits. The only difference between us and ghosts is because of the type of body we possess. This is getting profound. Today the meanings of the words have been lost, because of ignorance. People make the words or explain them to other in the way they understand without bothering of the real meaning. We are souls. A very easy explanation to this statement can be the ultimate reality of life i.e., death. Many believe that life is just the result of combination of certain compounds but if it were true then the death cannot be explained. What does a person loose at the time of death to get transformed into a dead body? Of course, nothing material, it is we ourselves. It might be a little tricky...

Quest For Knowledge

Quest for knowledge does not end till we feel enough and we feel enough only if we know it is enough for the purpose. We know it enough for the purpose only when the purpose is achieved. And the purpose is achieved only when the time comes. So, when further knowledge does not seem useful, we must keep patience and wait for the appropriate time. Before it unnecessary loads of knowledge will not do.

Importance And Tips Of Inclusion Of Balance In Life

Life is the name of perfect balance among different aspects of nature. And when this very balance is disturbed, the life becomes hell. Of course, our lives start with a greatly balanced state but with the influence of the interaction of external and our internal nature(sattoguna, rajoguna & tamoguna), this balance is generally lost. Once this balance is lost, we get disturbed and distracted from our paths. Even in Shreemad Bhagavad Gita the Lord says that one whose life is not balanced, can't be a yogi. Now, how to inculcate this perfect balance back into our lives? I have again the same simple answer i.e., renunciation. What we need to do is to bring renunciation in our lives. I know that those who are new to spiritual discussions might be looking at the word renunciation as a mystery. But don't worry as I am soon going to dedicate a post on the simple ways to inculcate renunciation in our lives.

Renunciation

Our goal is to reach the Divine, to experience His presence, to realize Him and to attain Him. But, at many points of time this seems tough. This is an effect of our attachment(s). Here comes the time to bring renunciation into our lives. Renunciation, as per general belief forces one out of his or her house into a lonely forest or uphill. But, renunciation is far more than it. In fact, spirituality never forces anyone for anything. I really don't wanna criticize those who renounced their homes in past. And who am I to do so? But I just wanna tell that it is not always the same that the spiritual seeker needs to go out wandering in bushes in search of peace as it always reside inside us alone. I mean to say that renunciation is more mental less physical. We need to detach ourselves from the things which have taken over us. We just need to overcome our weaknesses. We just have to raise the capability to picture ourselves without the things or person without whom we don't ex...

Importance Of Flag Posts In Temples

Image
A temple's flag postJust like the television station transmits signals to various televisions through antennas, the grace and blessings of the deity in the temple are transmitted to the whole world through the antenna called the flag post (Dhwaja Sthamba). When the consciousness is infused into the deity during the Kumbhabhisheka – called as the consecration ceremony of the temple - the same consciousness is also permeated into the flag post (Dhwaja Sthamba). When this is done, from a mere stone idol, the deity becomes the very fount of cosmic energy. This energy is reflected onto the sacred flag post (Dhwaja Sthamba), which stands directly opposite the deity, and is transmitted to the entire cosmos itself. -As explained by revered Swami Nimishananda

Change For Better

§. Change your thoughts if you wish to change your circumstances. Since you alone are responsible for your thoughts, only you can change them. You will want to change them when you realise that each thought creates according to its own nature. Paramhansa Yogananda §. Everything changes, nothing remains without change. Gautama Buddha §. Change in society is of secondary importance; that will come about naturally, inevitably, when you as a human being bring about the change in yourself. J Krishnamurti §. The entire world may not change./ The entire world cannot change./ The entire world even will not change./ But your tiny world you can and will change forever/ at this very moment with the help of your confidence-heart./ Yours will be the unparalleled victory. Bhagavad Gita Summary (In English)

The Bhagavad Gita ("Song of God") is the essence of the Vedas and Upanishads. It is a universal scripture applicable to people of all temperaments, for all times. It is a book with sublime thoughts and practical instructions on Yoga, Devotion, Vedanta and Action. The Bhagavad Gita has influenced many great thinkers over the years. Why do you worry without cause? Whom do you fear without reason? Who can kill you? The soul is neither born, nor does it die. Whatever happened, happened for the good; whatever is happening, is happening for the good; whatever will happen, will also happen for the good only. You need not have any regrets for the past. You need not worry for the future. The present is happening... What did you lose that you cry about? What did you bring with you, which you think you have lost? What did you produce, which you think got destroyed? You did not bring anything - whatever you have, you received from here. Whatever you have given, you have given only here. ...
